Actually I have given money to someone that I assumed to be homeless as I was exiting the bank.. a poorly dressed male with a hat on the ground with a few pennies in it! I tossed in a loonie then He went to the Hotel's bar and got himself a beer! I saw what he did cause the Hotel also had a barbershop next to the bar.. I was heading there to get my hair trimmed!
I told the homeless bum: that he won't get any more money from me! He replied are you a pastor? I replied Yes and you make the homeless look bad.. Drinking Alcohol is a sin and more so when you can't afford it!
I no longer give the homeless money.. I now offer to take the homeless to the nearby restaurant! Useless the homeless turns that offer down but one took me up on the offer! I'd give him my Disappointed look until he felt really guilty and shameful.
If he's homeless and if a beer makes things better for him at least for the moment good. Who can tell him if he should buy food or not. Once the money is given to him it's his to do whatever he wants with it. I'd buy him another beer and dinner.

No. It's none of my business. Besides, as wrong as it would be to use the money for that...I'm sure the homeless person wouldn't be proud of themselves. You would only make them angry or feel worse about their life.
