i use the xbmc to play files recorded on my server using a nebula dvb-t card. it records raw mpeg ts, and although the player doesn't play the files perfectly, it is more than adequate for time shifting tv. the player also doesn't know how long the file is.

using cvs build 05-02-2004 from the 'usual place', i am finding that programs over 2 gb in size stop playing after about an hour. (a 2 hour movie is approx 3.9 gb).
i am using samba shares on windows xp, and this problem has only just appeared.
has anyone else noticed this problem? any solutions?

i am now running cvs 05032004, and have just played to the end of the movie i was having trouble with using the earlier cvs, so it looks like the problem has been solved.

try with the latest cvs... i recall seeing in the cvs logs something along the line of '>2gb files fixed' but i don't think it made it into bugs.txt so i'm not sure when it was fixed in cvs... i think possibly 5/3.

i read somewhere about a 2gb file limit somewhere, but can't remember where. may / may not be applicable to xbmc also.
just a cobweb in my brain.
