Has anyone noticed the latest "enhancements" at ITN (American Express)? Besides now highlighting "preferred" airlines, it seems that even if you enter your desired airlines, it does not give you a listing of choices only for that airline. Quite honestly, this is very inconvenient for checking availability.
Does anyone else know of an online booking website that shows class availability besides itn.com?
I am trying to use ual.com. Is there a way that I can get it to show me the fare buckets like itn does? (itn is not behaving in terms of giving me my airline of choice, but it does provide more fare bucket info than ual.com when I am in advanced mode). All I can get ual.com to tell me is which class of service is available, without the specifics, eg: Y7 M7 B7, etc
Please, everyone, send ITN feedback, it is right there on the left side of their homepage, and pleasantly request a return to displaying our choices first. Surely if they get enough comments they will at least think about it. I mentioned that it took much longer to book in the new format, but perhaps I should have said something to the effect that the new format makes it easier to book on Expedia or Travelocity (unture since they do not actually show availability like ITN does, but competition can motivate some!). I've bought a few... (just so people don't think that _nobody_ buys from them) -- many times they have (or had, anyway) low-fare availability when the airline's website had none, etc...

I like this tool, it's easy, fast, one-step and gives a great overview. Also, it seems that it is closer to real time availability, than ITN (I have made a reservation and seen the availability drop from 1 to 0 - maybe a coincidence).
'Hope this helps!

this is great but i was expecting page after page of results. it only gave me a few options. not sure why.
I don't like the new look. The previous look allow us to see all the flights easily but not now.
My main beef now is that they only spit out 5 or so flight choices, even when I ask for 20. Perhaps they'll work this out quickly.
...and I thought it was just me! It does say something about "to see preferred airlines use advance feature under flights" or something to that effect--but I can't see where to access this. If anyone figures this out, please post.

i sent them an email about two weeks ago when i first noticed the change. it was ignored. hmmm...how do you navigate this web site?
The airline specific function works great if you choose AA only. Other than that it seems useless.

YES, YES, YES...
I hate this "enhancement". I put in leave at 10p on US and it shows me UA flights leaving at 6am! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/mad.gif

Yes, ual.com in expert mode.
[But with a UA bias of course ... as the primary choice. It uses the itn booking engine as well].

www.ual.com (http://www.ual.com) is great tool except when the time comes to look for NW flights... it won't show any NW flights.
It seems to be working again for me this morning http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
The ITN site now has an entirely new graphic "look" about it; when you visit it next expect to spend some time searching, because few of the features are where they were.
Great news! Yesterday, I emailed them saying
Until recently, your system was great at honoring my request concerning
preferred airline. Now it doesn't seem to respect my preference at all!
1) What is going on?
2) Why?
3) Any chance you will revert to the old system? If so, when?
Thanks. Until this problem, you had a great engine!
Today, they wrote back, saying
Mr. andymo99
Thank you for the email to American Express Interactive. We apologise for the
inconvenience, our website
will be upgraded this Friday, and that function will available.
Thank you

Let's see what happens Friday.
Is one of their "enhancements" eliminating Delta from their list of airlines? It's not on the master list although a Delta flight occasionally pops up on their list of 20 least expensive in the advance mode. I used AOW ITN and put in Delta as my preferred airline and when it switched me over to AXP ITN (which it now automatically does) only one Delta flight showed up from among the outgoing and none among the return trips. I guess the Friday deadline for "fixing" the preference problem has not yet been met. Is there any other site to use for checking specific fares availability? I've been looking for H and Q on Delta and even with the upgrade default it will only show me K fares. Expedia will show me a Q fare but when I continue with booking, later in the process it tells me it found a cheaper fare code and is switching me to it. It will not allow me to decline the switch and continue booking a Q fare. Anyone know a way around that other that having to call Delta directly, only to wonder if they are being very thorough in checking all the available options? (I asked a similar question on the Delta thread recently but thought I'd check here as well to catch some different FTers. My apologies if someone is seeing this for the second time.) I agree. new feature sucks.
Bad news: the backdoor to itn at http://flyaow.com/classavailability.htm does not seem to be working. It redirects you to the legitimate Amex itn site.
Good news: The site is now respecting my airline preference, like in the good old days.
I totally agree with you. I was on that site yesterday and really had to work at getting information and seats as I required. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif

I also noticed that the site doesn't seem to be working now. I did experience some difficulties with it last week - I don't know if it is a related short-term issue. Maybe it's a problem of being beseiged by FlyerTalkers!!! I hope it comes back because I certainly found it a useful tool. I guess I'll have to keep to the German site now.

The site is not working anymore... anyone has any idea why? It does not show any class availability.

it seems as if itn.net has a bit of a history of ignoring preferences. like with airline preferences (which it has apparently corrected), only allowing 5 choices when 20 are requested is another example.
i don't mind them only spitting out 5 choices. but, then don't make the number of choices a preference. get rid of the preference if it is going to be ignored.
You all can check seat availability at
http://www.etour.co.jp/Solar/index.html
This site is based by Gallileo, but you can not get any fare and not in English.
However, function is very simple.
?o”.’n?F (Origin; 3 letters airport code)
Ú“I’n?F (Destination;3 letters airport code)
“‹?æ“ú?F (Date)
?q‹ó‰ïŽÐ?F (Airlines code; 2 letters)
ie:
?o”.’n?F : JFK
Ú“I’n?F : LHR
“‹?æ“ú?F : 2002 10 19
?q‹ó‰ïŽÐ?F : UA
Flight no., Origin, Dep. time, Destination, Arr. time, fleet and stops.
UA 956 JFK 1900 LHR 0655 777 0
F9 C9 D9 Y9 B9 M9 H9 Q9 V9 W9 S9 TL K9 L9 GL A9
UA 976 JFK 0910 LHR 2115 763 0
F9 C9 D9 Y9 B9 M9 H9 Q9 V9 W9 S9 TL K9 L9 G9 A9
Booking classes with "R","L","C"
R means "Request"
L means "Able to queue waiting list"
C means "Waiting list is closed"
I'm also experiancing this complete ignoring of my choice of airline. And yes, I'm doing it the same advanced way I used to when it worked. :-(

Fascinating... just checked itn, the jp site and the de site and got 3 very different results...
for the flight I'm interested in:
ITN shows P7 F0
JP site shows P7 F7
DE site shows P4 F4
Since NW didn't EUA this flight I'm guessing that the ITN F0 value is accurate. I'll call NW and find out.
and, i liked all of those funny characters. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

amen to all of the posts above. i wonder why they won't show northwest flights? is it just because nw keeps putting the kibosh on fare increases?
It is once again not respecting my choice of airline. Is everyone experiencing this? Any fixes?
Whatever they did to ITN spilled over to FLYAOW's classavailability. They've lost significant value to me. Any other engines left to sort by airline preference, then fare class?
ITN/Amex might be more responsive to feedback if once in a blue moon somebody, anybody would actually book a flight with them.

AHO,
AWESOME
The output at this site is like itn in the good, old days.
Thanks so much.
It hasn't "respected" my requests for preferred airlines in a week or so.
