For a while now, after leaving my pc online overnight to d/l stuff, when it comes to the morning I see that my d/l have stopped and my internet dead.
I check my cablemodem and all lights are on, so its fine, but my connection is dead, so I run ipconfig to check my IP, it looks ok, but no internet, so I try ipconfig /release it does its job and then I try ipconfig /renew but it wont do it - I get some error about renewing.
I checked my blocked connections in the last 10 minutes and I see my 1st hop from my ISP - saying block NetBios Traffic the remote port is NETBIOS_DGM & NETBIOS_NS.
So to remedy this I have to shutdown Outpost and then try ipconfig /renew again and it works ok, my internet is back and I can now start up Outpost again with no problems.

Maybe my address is blacklisted? Your ISP blocks the site's address .. Some firewalls like NIS and Agnitum Outpost have such options built into them.

As someone who knows nothing about firewalls and netbios, should I be allowing my ISP to the above?

I posted this to my ISP and they said Please try changing the firewall settings to allow DHCP server settings to go through.
I have checked my Global settings and allow outgoing DHCP is allowed for outgoing, do I duplicate this rule and allow incoming for this?

Welcome to the forums Outpost newbie,
The Outpost version you have quoted is not an officially released one. Please download the current version from Agnitum's website (www.agnitum.com) (which is currently 2.1).
NetBIOS traffic is used for File and Printer sharing on a Microsoft Windows network - it is blocked by default by Outpost since it can pose a serious security risk, and should only be allowed on a secured LAN. It should not be required by ISPs (some do block it for security reasons), but cable-based ones can be "different" on this, configuring their network as a big LAN - which means being able to access your neighbour's PCs and files via Network Neighbourhood. I would suggest you check with your ISP.
