Mrs. Omkhar and I are currently booked on YYZ-LHR in August. According to the current flight schedule it will be a 763 [any one care to take bets on if it will be XMed or not ;-? ]. We recently flew the 777 from YYZ-YUL and were wondering.... As AC is taking order of more 777 (W and L I believe) in the coming months, will there be any more 777s deployed on the YYZ-LHR route, or if the will be used to fill out other routes? You'll see 77Ws on YYC/LHR, YYZ/FRA, YYZ/NRT, YYZ/LHR (on some days).
Andrew what happens to the 345's while the 777's are used for HKG ?
I believe the 77W had been on YVR-NRT for August, but its now an Airbus 343. The NH codeshare is still showing as a 777. I'm not sure that YYC-LHR was originally a 77W route, so perhaps they pinched the aircraft from there. I have a 77W booked for YYZ-NRT next month. If I heard correctly, a third is shortly going into service, with 7 by end of year.

The A345s will be on the YYZ-PVG non-stop when YYZ-HKG gets the 77Ls, I believe.

The YYC-LHR a/c was pinched from YYZ-LHR run. There are two daily 77W flights in July and one per day in August.
Judging by the new seat selection page on ac.com, I would say that YYC flights are filling up faster than YYZ. This is really strange as there is also a YEG-LHR flight as well. This leaves AB with three daily flights to LHR (3 763s and 1 77W).
The really important question for YYC-LHR is what flight to book for upgrade from SSWU?
1) The 77W could "pumpkin" between now and August to a 343 or 333.
2) More people will be trying to upgrade on the 77W as they are guarranteed lie flat seats. As well people buying into J class are more likely to chose 77W. The 77W does not have any more J seats than 333, the expansion is all Y class.
3) With better chances to upgrade on the 763, is a standard J seat on the 763 better than Y class on the 77W? Realizing that there are no guarrantees of and XM aircraft, I have to plan on a standard 763 in the decision making process.
Many question but no clear answers.
