I think that there is still quite a significant amount of racism in this country. Thankfully, many of us have moved beyond such stupidity, and I can only hope that we continue to grow more tolerant of each other's differences, because it definitely would help to further unite the nation. I think that even if racism didn't exist at all there would still be conflict and discord in America, it would just be based on something else. Look around the world and all the conflict with people who are the same race and still find differences to fight and die for. It is just the violent nature of mankind.
