It is not just a Showy thing, because Makeovers need NOT just be Physical but involves psycological development as well.
Most makeovers on Television are shown at physical levels. But they involve personality development element also. It is only to bring the person from a secluded state to a more apparent enviorment, that such makeovers take place.
Ideally change in thinking comes in the form of positive attitude, greater confidence level and better communication ability.For some it may lead to over confidence and egoism, but one cannot generalize this.
Makeover does not change one's way of thinking but it definitely increases one's confidence and changes the outer physical personality.
It is proven that if you dress for success that you have more confidence and carry yourself better. There is nothing wrong with looking and dressing your best unless you become obsessed with it. Many clubs (Soroptimist) teach dressing and approaching situations in a business manner.
