Do you mean to say that DivX/Xvid has a specific codec version for Europe & America? I dont think so
There is some diff 4 sure.. whn i get a hindimovie or an indian dvd rip from the net or convert same from a dvd..it does not give the proper picture vol is fine..but all dvd rips from abroad that i download i mean all holly movs work fine..may be something to do with that region thing..www.videohelp.com said something here abt tht..
Now could someone pls help in how 2 find the codec version /(if there r any) ?? secondly while downloading files from limewire etc. some files have an "avi" extension. does that mean those are divx files ???
As simple as that. Just burn them to a CD!
CD/DVD anything would be fine.

i beg to differ its got to do with the rippers (the person & the tool) .... the region thing means that a dvd of a specific region will play in drives set to tht specific region .... u can only change the region i think max 5 times after that it gets locked to the last region selected ..... so don mess around wiht the region settings of ur drive
i beg to differ its got to do with the rippers (the person & the tool) .... yes its related to the tool, codec settings and audio format and not with the region
