ok for the woman who have poly cistic ovaries, what meds did your doctor put you on and did help you to ge pregnant? I'm on Metformin, has anyone lse been put on metformin for ovarian cysts? and did it regulate you and help you become pregnant?
my sister had pretty severe poly cystic ovaries, she was on some types of birth control to regulate her cycles, I'm sure numerous other things, but after 3 years of trying, Clomid finally got her pregnant. Not only once, but twice....she has two little ones now, and she's done. But let me tell you, she's the best mom too....seems the ones who have to try harder appreciate it more.

PCOS and ovarian cysts are different things. PCOS is lumpy ovaries because your follicles don't develop and drop, cysts on the ovaries are growths on the outside of the ovary, caused by hormones, deposits of this or the other. etc.
I was diagnosed with PCOS in March, I had a laparoscopy in April which confirmed the diagnosis, but ruled out any physical abnormality, i also had a DnC at the time to 'clean house.'
I was put on metformin 500mg twice a day. And told to lose weight. I lost ten kilos in 3 months. And i fell pregnant!!! In July.

I am now 14 weeks pregnant. My first period was 5 weeks after my DnC (my 'natural' cycle when i was 15 was 5 weeks long) and then i had spotting 5 weeks after that period, then my next period didn't come. However, i ovulated 3 weeks 'late' so that means if i hadn't of gotten pregnant that cycle, my period would have been 8 weeks after the spotting. So, it didn't really regulate me, but it got my ovaries going again.
I think the weight loss and metformin together is what did it.
