I'm at 300 dpi and I need to crop images to the following sizes: One question re. Lightroom cropping: Retouching Forum: Digital :: just got the software and the whole cropping thing has me beat. i ran a I know pixel density stays the same (ppi figure) but why no change in image size? http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp?forum=1006&message=30936011HOME | Comparison of cropped full frame with APS-C | Photoclub Alpha:: David Kilpatrick compares crops from the 24 megapixel Alpha 900 with full frames of the same size from the Alpha 700 and Alpha 380 http://www.photoclubalpha.com/2009/08/04/crop-or-cram-pixel-density-versus-the-big-viewHOME |
500 x 500 equalling no more than 70k
475 x 374
and 460 x 245
Since I only know how to crop in inches, how can I get to these exact sizes? I've searched all over. I'm needing these sizes for a website that Blu Domain is making for me, but I'm not having much luck getting them on the phone.
Please help!
In Photoshop? if so....
I believe you can set the exact crop dimensions with the crop tool, not sure at the moment though. Free Photoshop Tutorials, Videos & Lessons : Resizing and Cropping:: of resizing by either pixel size or by document size and each has a droplist of options. It allows to select your size and resolution as you crop. http://www.we-r-here.com/ps/tutorials/level_2/2-7.htmHOME |
If the ratio is correct, you can use Image Size, to set the exact size.
Then when you save as JPEG, use the compression/quality level to get the file size down...although at 300 PPI, I think you will need a lot of compression to get to 70k.
Select the crop tool and fill in the required size in the crop toolbar using 'px' as your cropping units. eg:
width: 500 px
height: 350 px
