I have recently installed River Past video cleaner for converting
movie files (.dat files) into AVI files.
There are lot of video compressors like DivX5.1.1 Codec, MJPEG Compressor and lot of audio compressors like Microsoft ADPCM, WM Speech Encoder DMO.
Please tell me which audio and video compressor to use to so that the movie files are compressed to the maximum extent.
I am using windows XP(SP1) having 128MB of RAM.
Someone is always observing you who is capable of greatly blessing you.
But for the XVID binary you have to look somewhere else than there official website. They have the source not the binary. Optionally you can compile your own binary.
For the binary from doom9 you can go here:
http://www.doom9.org/Soft21/Codecs/XviD-1.0.1-05062004.exe
use Dr.DivX. download it from divx.com
Shell r u asking abt the software or the codec ?
i think virtualdub is good Dr. DIVX is also nice
use virtualdub
VirtualDub Mod .. and try Matrox Compression ..
http://virtualdubmod.sourceforge.net/
Dr. DivX , its simple, easy 2 use and does the job neatly
Use Xvid with Lame mp3 @ 128 Kbps in joint stereo mode. Use a resolution like 592x320, 576x240 at 23/25 FPS and bit rate of arnd 700-750Kbps which will give you the desired results.
But use VirtualDub for the compression. If you are looking for a click & go type software for compression then go for Dr. DivX although it is not free. But I guess that will not be a problem for you.
And XVid .. Its a free open source alternative to DivX ..
