Hi,
I was wondering if anyone might be able to help me out. I've got problem with my word application. My machine has microsoft office 2003 installed and runs on windows XP Pro.
My question is this. I have some emails coming from trusted sources with file attachments. Usually, with other applications like excel, pdf, i could just open it straight away without having to save them first on my machine. HOwever, just recently, i tried to do the same with the word .doc that came attached to the emails. I could not open it - nothing happen after selecting open option button. Then, i decided to save it on my computer and thought that i could open it just by double-clicking on it. It still would not open. Then, i went on running the word document application and open the file from there, then it worked.

Any ideas as to what causes this to happen? how do i go about resolving this?

Open Windows Explorer and find any doc file. Right click on the file and chose Open With (you may have to hold the shift down) what program does it say it will use ? Now chose Word and check the Always use this … box.
