Hello,
I have 2 questions:
*I know the settings for webpages in active content plugin are different for every person but what settings are recomended?
*When I disable JavaScript and popup windows in default settings in active content and open the webpage
http://start.cdfreaks.com/ it is almost empty. Then when I add this site to the exclusionslist and for this page enable everything it overules the default dettings once. The next time I open the page it's almost completely blocked again. That can't be right?
I'm there now. It wanted popup windows, which I allowed once and it opened right up.
Chris
No problem
Spiky,
You're not an idiot this is something that frequently catches people by surprise when they are trying to configure active content. My suggestion to you is to manually add the sites to your exclusion list and instead of adding www.cdfreaks.com, just add cdfreaks.com. This will allow all of their sites to function properly using only one entry in the exclusion list.
Hi chrisclu, thanks for the reply.
I cleaned the IE cache with Supercleaner. I tried ctrl+F5 and I removed cdfreaks from the DNS cache but nothing changed. I wanted to ask you if you tried this website for yourself. Well, I was wrong. Used the prompt for javascript and popup windows and turned out the cdfreakspage is really 2 pages. Start.cdfreaks.com and gfx.cdfreaks.com. Now I have added both to the exclusionlist, disabled javascript and popup windows in default settings and it works great.
I am an idiot, sorry.:o :o :o
Do you use Erics spyad list? full or lite version? I use th elite version. It is possible that the full one include this site. Outpost ad blocker did block a lot of ads. You're right, it works. When I disable javascript in default rules but keep popup windows enabled the page looks fine. But isn't the main purpose of the exclusionlist to overule default settings? Because when I disable popup windows in the default settings but enable it for this site in the exclusionlist it only works once. The second time I visit the page it's blocked again.
Hmmm, I just found out that when I disable javascript in default rules the page is almost empty and when I enable it in the exclusionlist the page works fine. So for javascript the overuling of the default settings work.
So overuling works for javascript but not for popup windows. Strange.
Thanks for the advise MegaHertz. I'm learning more and more.:D :D
Hi spikey, Just because you changed the AC settings for that site doesn't erase the cached page. ;)
Empty your cache or hit F5, or hold Ctrl while refreshing page to force a new loading. Also empty the DNS cache.
