AA comes through again

  • I managed to leave my cell phone on a flight LA-HNL. It, of course had no ID on it.
Not only was it found by AA, but the AA gentleman used the listing on the cell phone to call my home tolocate me.
I was notified of the loss before I knew it was missing. It was held at the airport for me to pick up on my return flight.
The personnel at the airport were going to look for me if I hadn't found them.
    Very impressive!

  • I had a similar experience where I left my passport on a flight. Likewise, AA called before I knew about it.

Also, on Saturday I filled out a customer service feedback form on aa.com. On Monday, someone from the Executive Office called indicating that my comments had been passed on to the right person (I was complaining about the lack of monitors in the baggage claim at ORD...when you arrive in L concourse you have to walk a long way to see a monitor announcing your baggage claim area). I was very impressed with the quick turnaround.

  • Another stellar performance, AA!

  • This thread is a good excuse for me to explain what sparked my loyalty to AA this year, because it involves a lost cell phone.

Returning SJC-HNL, arrived home and unpacked and couldn't find the phone. AA folks at HNL bent over backwards checking with gate agents, cleaning crews, etc., without success. So I called ATT Wireless, who blocked the number. The next day, got a call from a Miami-based FA who said she was working an inbound MIA flight when, upon landing, a cellphone rolled up to her feet at her jumpseat. She paged through the directory to find the "Home" number, tried to call it but the phone was blocked, so was calling from her own phone at MIA. She FedEx'ed the phone back at her own expense, refusing to accept payment...but I did send her some goodies from Hawaii to the address on her Fed Ex shipment.

And this thread reminds me that since I had no status and no SOSes at the time, I should send her a Christmas Card with an SOS tucked in now...

    Aloha.

  • Wow, nice work AA!

A former collegue of mine lost his cell phone thru the secruity scanners in PIT. After about 3-4 weeks, he called me and told me that CO has mailed the phone to our company headquarters. One thing I didn't understand is why did CO have the phone when he was in a US terminal?

About calling your home by using your call list eventhough this time worked out fine...but I find it kind of scary...if the phone falls into the wrong hands...I always have my phone fully locked,if someone find my phone he/she has to use a special code to unlock the phone...

    Regards,

    Al

  • A few months ago on a flight from JFK-MIA, I somehow managed to leave my drivers license on my seat as I juggled luggage, boarding pass, etc. Didn't realize it until I arrived at the hotel in South Beach. A call to the EXP desk got me connected to the Flagship Lounge, where an agent went to the aircraft, found my license, and had it messengered to the hotel. Unbelievable service! She got a letter to the Exec Offices and a half-dozen SOSs!

The statistics for AA that are used can be easy to manipulate depending on someone who indeed DOES have cancer, comes to the hospital and refuses the treatment?

It's fantastic how many really dedicated AA employees are out there.

  • I think AA is great, but they don't always come through on lost objects. My partner left two objects on two separate AA flights recently and neither could be located. One was a huge book, the size of the Manhattan telephone directory, the other was a small gold ring of no great monetary value. Despite repeated phone calls to AA, no luck!

Sorry for your troubles with this person. That's like I mentioned above, I lock my phone up just in case if i loose it. I started doing this because I lost my phone in TPE in Sept... eventhough with different networks the phone cannot be used over there...i feel much safer when i lock my phone
