Regarding my uncle, Captain John Karl Christian Martens. It is my
understanding that he is listed in the 1945 book of world records.
(Guinness Book of Records) It has to do with the fact that he was at
that time the youngest commissioned Sea or Merchant Marine Captain. He
is still living. As far as i know he kept his captain's license
renewed through 2000. I would like to see if he qualifies for another
listing as the person holding such a license the longest period of
time. He is very special to me. He suffers dementia now but he would

current edition.
Knowing that Guiness Record books were not published is good
information. I will try to ask my uncle. Perhaps it was Who's Who
