There are endless stats supporting or discounting your opinion but overall its a good list. I think what is interesting is who will be in the top ten in 20 years time. Many say USA is done for....I am not so convinced. In the 80's they said Japan was on course to eclipse USA s, 20 years later where are they.....
Booms come and go as do re sessions, I suspect the cold that USA and now Europe have caught will turn into full blown pneumonia for some of the so called contenders to the top spot...I don't think the USA will hand it over to China that easily. The USA destroyed Japan economically after Bush Senior collapsed out there trying to negotiate with them. Russia got too big for its boots recently and it is already almost economically destroyed and we are less than a year in, letting Lehman's go under was no miscalculation, far from it. ...just my ramblings...
Humm, you said North Korea ?? Maybe South Korea but NOT North Koera.
The Uk, is not the most powerful country in Europe but I think that's Germany or France.
US, UK, France, Germany, China, Canada, Italy, Japan, Russia, Australia....I like India, but it's not there yet....and China's gonna be one or two within the next twenty years
Technology is a Force Multiplier. Those with the most need the least amount of boots on the ground.

In the west the armies are highly trained, unlike the Russians, Chinese and other big armies. With a smaller force in Afghanistan then the Russians had, the western armies are curtailing the taliban to roadside bombs, whereas the Russians were kicked out.
