Black-footed Ferret Recovery Program - Prairie Ecosystem:: The plains are also the windiest part of the country due to the frequent air mass . migrating herds of animals, Americans now must travel to Africa. http://www.blackfootedferret.org/prairie.htmlHOME | To start, I'm absolutely in love with the little fuzzie, and I've won plenty of battles over keeping her with me from when I moved from my college to my dad's house then to my own place and then to my mother's house. And next fall I may be leaving the county to study abroad in Argentina and living with my Aunt. And she's getting old now, and to be honest I'm not sure she'll make it to this time next year at all. But she's still in great health and has never given me trouble. BMELV Travelling with pets:: If the country of origin is not listed and hence the rabies situation and its cats and ferrets) to the European Community (Regulation [EC] No. http://www.bmelv.de/cln_045/nn_1083190/EN/08-AnimalWelfare/PetTravel/RulesPetAnimals.html__nnn=trueHOME |
That said. If in the event I do choose to go and she's still very much alive and well. Am I able to travel with her outside of the USA to Argentina? (If it's relevant, I'll be going to the Mendoza Province in like it's Cuyo area.)
First you need to go to your local vet, get an exam. NFWS - Ferrets First- Taking a Gamble on Amber:: I built a large ferret run in one corner of the garden so tht they could come out of their hutch and run around and I was perfectly happy with just two http://homepage.ntlworld.com/ferreter/amber04.htmHOME | Pet Travel and Moving to Belgium with Animals - AngloINFO:: If coming from a non-EU country but intending to remain and travel within the EU for a period of time it may be useful to have your pet (cat, dog or ferret) http://belgium.angloinfo.com/countries/belgium/pettravel.aspHOME |
Get rabies vaccine.
Get them to fill out a Health Cerfiticate.
Then find out where your local gov. building is they need to do some more stuff.
Its all about phone calls and patiences.
You also need to talk to the airlines..
Most likely, no. That would be way too much stress on a ferrets body, and as we know they are very sensitive already. I can bet it will get above 80 degrees in the plane where they would place her and that'll kill your ferret. They cannot release heat, therefore they overheat and die. I am assuming this is a minimum 6 hour flight. Ferrets poo every 2 hours, and need water/food every 2 hours. It really isn't a good idea. Plus, you'd need to figure out if she made it alive, does that country allow ferrets, is it legal? In my opinion, it is too much of a hassle and too much for that ferret to handle. Ferry Crossings:: Find out more about our membership of the PETS travel scheme. are the rules for ferrets leaving the UK to go to other EU countries or travelling between http://www.dfdsseaways.co.uk/Ferry_Crossings/Our_Travel_Gateways/Travelling_abroad_with_PetsHOME | Fødevarestyrelsen - Travelling to Denmark:: Dogs, cats and ferrets travelling from other third countries that are not listed in Annex II to EU Regulation 998/2003/EEC must comply with the requirements http://www.uk.foedevarestyrelsen.dk/ImportExport/Travelling_with_pet_animals/Dogs_cats_ferrets/Travelling_to_Denmark/HOME |
You are going to have to check with government officials to see if ferrets are legal in Argentina. Then, if you do decide to travel with your fuzzy, see if you can board her as a carry on and stow her under your seat. Some airlines do this, and if she can see/smell you it will probably go a long way to keeping her calm and as stress-free as possible. If one airline doesn't, call another. It might be extra, but the welfare of your fuzzy is worth it :) Hope this helps and good luck!
