I know that you can't earn AA miles on BA transatlantic flights, but can you earn AA miles on BA flights within Europe?
The first year I made EXP, I crossed 100K on a BA flight from LHR to MAN.
Yes, I believe it's a minimum of 500 miles/flight. I did this a number of times this summer with flights that went to the continent from LHR. The only catch is that I think you have to book in certain fare classes and it isn't always easy to get BA to input the info; I had to talk to customer service about three times before I flew.
no problem. i did several flights on ba and di (= deutsche ba) within germany. all the miles posted fine with a 500 min. for each route.
And not just BA's Europe routes. Every route flown by BA metal except transAtlantic [North or South], including Comair in SAfrica and their German airline too. Only GO flights don't get miles.
i got tickets thru aa.com, later asked aa to check that aa # was in record. it worked on 2 flts this yr.
What is odd is that I always get my BA miles faster than I get my AA miles! Maybe AA does more checking before giving its own members miles for flying, but still odd. Microsoft PowerPoint - ACI-NA 2008-12 WAS.ppt:: File Format: PDF/Adobe Acrobat - View as HTMLAA/BA/IB ATI Application. Under ATI, passengers could combine fares and collect AAdvantage miles on. BA flights between London and DFW – a privilege that http://www.aci-na.org/index/resolveuid/776ab2803e8affab37bf4835f95e4b6eHOME |
yes, just make sure your aa # is in the record. have gotten mi's 4 or 5 times the last 2 yrs.
Same experience. BA flights always post first.
This is what I do every week - I am london based but prefer to accumulate miles (and bonuses) with AA rather than BA. There are restrictions on which fares BA will grant miles for - refer to the aa.com member guide and watch out for certain code-shares. The aa people have generally been very good when answering my specific emails on this.

I've had no problems with this. I also confirmed at BA check-in that my AAdvantage number was in the record.
It's normally no problem but keep your BA boarding passes and ticket stubs just in case - the chances of the posting needing to be chased up later are higher than on an AA flight.
