MediaBlvd Forums > Tattoo Appreciation Thread #1:: 50 posts - Last post: Sep 25, 2003I want to get more tattoos but for me personally it has to be in a place where I can hide it. I don't want it on my back cause I want to be http://www.mediablvd.com/forums/lofiversion/index.php?t692.htmlHOME | ok well i have 8 tattoos and have gotten them done at different places.
First thing is making sure they are sanitary. go to the shop...ask if you can watch a tattoo being done if you can. this way you can see for yourself how clean they are and how good the work is. or if you dont want to go through that at least ask if everything is sterilized. ( they SHOULD have a certificate proving they are clean and certified as well) this is usually on the wall somewhere. Fat Cyclist » Blog Archive » First Fat Cyclist Tattoo:: I totally want to do it, but I don’t have any tat’s and I know what I want my first two to be if I get them… and (sorry Fatty) the Clydesdale is not it. http://www.fatcyclist.com/2008/08/31/first-fat-cyclist-tattoo/HOME | Is Greater Than » I Am A Tattooed Lady:: I first got a tattoo at age 18, and continued to get tattooed fairly often . My bad. It’s been a long campaign. Zell: Don’t ask me why, but the bigger it http://isgreaterthan.net/2008/10/27/i-am-a-tattooed-lady/HOME |
Second: ask around. im sure you have some friends that have tats done??? ask them. or other people.
But if you go into a shop and watch things a lil bit while your "looking around" you will see if its ok to go there or not. Find out the meaning of most tattoo designs!:: (you can give initials if you don't want to tell your full name) When and where did you get your tattoo? p.s
DONT GO FOR CHEAP! CHEAP isnt always good.
look them up online so you can read others opinions of the shop, make sure you talk to the person and ask how long they have been tattooing, look at their portfolio to see work theyve done, ask about their methods of sterilization.... theres also a website called inkednation.com... its kind of like myspace for tattooed people... and you can find local tattoo studios and artists, as well as ask people what kind of experience theyve had with certain artists
As others have said, check the shop's cleanliness and get recommendations from friends, but also talk to the artist about what you want and how that compares to his or her portfolio. You'll have a better experience if the artist understands - or even shares - your sense of asthetics. For example, I like vibrant colors, my first tattoo artist liked working in black and white. I wound up with a tattoo I wasn't crazy about and had to get fixed later. Do your research and be sure you know what you want!! New Tattoo: Stars « D life:: does it hurt to get a tattoo, im getitng my first tattoo and im thinking about thats exactly what i want but sumwer else on my body you havnt got the http://evilwillow.wordpress.com/2006/06/05/new-tattoo-stars/HOME |
the first step is to find all the local tattoo shops around. Then maybe try to find some people who have lots of ink and ask them. Theyre gonna know because tattoos have an inner circle just like a click and theyre gonna tell you who sucks and whos good. examine the artwork too, usually a good serious artist will have a portfolio, so be sure to check for good shading and really crisp lines, that will make or break a good tattoo. Make sure too however that the shop is really really REALLY clean after all they are needles and you want to be in a very sterile environment. lastly do yourself a favor and make damn sure what you want is what you want for life....lower back tattoos and little butterflies will potentially be something you regret later in life. good luck and have fun!
Please check out http://www.howstuffworks.com/tattoo.htm this should help.
When choosing your tattoo make sure it is one that you really are proud of because it will be something that you will have to live with for the rest of your life.
Good.......Tattoo Shop
Now there's a real oxymoron.
Wait till you're older.
well first find a clean shop very important then ask people who have had them done in your area and that will give you a really good idea who you want to choose....
.. just do a online search via yahoo or google for tattoos shops in your area, ex.. tattoo shops in dallas texas , then research the shops ask them for a portolio they should all have one.. and pics of there past work.. if you live in a smaller time ask around... work of mouth is the best. tattoo magazine and their website is the best way that you can find one.. good luck!
the first place i went to was reccommended by a friend. the tattooist told me that a good clean tattoo shop should remind you of a doctors office. that clean disinfectant smell.
