Study Tour to Guangzhou:: As part of the study a one-day tour to Guangzhou was organised on 8 August 2002 to seek insights from Guangdong enterprises on how Hong Kong should be http://www.hkcsi.org.hk/reports/prd_blueprint/prd_tour.htmHOME | I will be traveling to Guangzhou (China) in November and I would like to spend one day in Hong Kong for shopping on my way back to Dubai. I have a connecting flight from Hong Kong to Dubai on 30 November 2008 at 00.35hrs. I would like to reach Hong Kong in the morning of 30 November and shop around till my flight for Dubai.
I have 3 main questions: (1) what is the duration of the trip from Guangzhou to Hong Kong by train? (2) where can I keep my luggage in Hong Kong during my one day visit? Are there lockers in the airport or should I book a hotel for the day? (3) I would like to shop at Shum Shui Po. What is the duration of the trip from Hong Kong aiport to Shum Shui Po? How do I get there? THE 6TH CHAMBERS MISSION TO CHINA, HONG KONG & TAIWAN:: Day 5, 4/1 Tues. Guangzhou/Hong Kong (New World Renaissance Hotel, 4-Star, Afternoon for leisure or own shopping. 1) Guangzhou to Lowu/HK border by train is approx 45 minutes or 1hr 30 minutes by Bus.
2.) If you're flying with Cathay Pacific, I would suggest that you go to MTR Hong Kong Station at Hong Kong Island where you can check in your luggage 24hrs before your boarding time same as you check-in at the airport but you need to buy an Airport Express train ticket to the airport at HK$100.
3.) If don't take my advice in item#2, and you book for a hotel, Sham Shui Po or Mong Kok by bus is around 25 to 30 minutes. n after u arvd HK. u r in Hunghom Terminal of the KCRC. just grab a taxi outside (there's a taxi stand) n headed to the Kowloon Station. fares wil be apporox. HKD$30. v cheap & just 10 mins if no traffic jam. over there........show them ur airtix n u can do the free city chk-in so to get rid of ur luggages. ur bags wil be directly transfer up to ur Emirates flight. no worry! the only thing is that u must take the MTR airport express to our airport. so u hv to purchase a train's tix there in advance b4 u can city chk-in & afterward, u can use the tix travel to the airport after shopping.

so......after u 'mailed' ur luggage. u can head to Shamshuipo (SSP). Kowloon Station is kinda close to SSP. so a taxi wil do again n the charges wil be like HKD$30 again. or u can take the MTR but u hv to shift fr station to station as there's no direct train fr the Kowloon Station towards SSP. if u insisted MTR...u can hoop on to a train in Kowloon Station --> Lai King Station 1st. then shift a train in Lai King back to SSP. fares wil be abt HKD$8 i guess........plz chk their website ur own. travel time wil be abt 30 mins
n dun goto SSP 2 early as shops there not open yet. if u r tend to go shop those pc stuffs........better go after 2pm.
upstairs of the Kowloon Station = a new mall named Elements. maybe u can hang aro there a bit 1st......shops opened after 1100.
good luck!!
