  • Has anyone that bought from Plow & Hearth seen the miles? I just received an e-mail from their Customer Satisfaction dept. (a joke) they said mileage posting can take 2-3 months. If you are planning on using this one I would use it soon.

  • If you have an office max near you, you can pick up the online order at a store and save the shipping. So if your buying the fully refunded pens you pay zero. That's cheap.

  • For petsmart, the code P6A1W3S1 allows you to take off $10 from a $30 order and $15 must be non food items. My husband came back from Petsmart having just bought flee stuff. He'll return it to the store, and I ordered it on-line. Even with the $5.99 shipping, no tax, $10.00 off it came out cheaper than buying it at the store. And I have another partner!
Is there any similar discount code for officemax?

  • The office Max pick is a tricky one. When I talked to customer service they said you caould write in the message box where you would like to pick the item up but they also told me that you would be billed at the store. This means you will not get the miles.

I can't find the GC on The Hickory Farms site. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/confused.gif Help!

If I had bought 2 bags I could have bought the second bag for a net of $18.00 since I paid for the shipping on the first bag.

Don't forget to look for coupons at www.valueconsumer.com (http://www.valueconsumer.com) . PetsMart always has $10 off $30 coupons available.

  • I just ordered a $2.49 item (box of pens) with a $2.49 mail-in rebate. The shipping cost was $5. Don't know why a $1 item would have a $3.95 shipping fee, but that is ok. I didn't see anywhere on the site where you could get free shipping if you pick it up (otherwise I might have purchased a $1 pen and just forgotten to pick it up!).

Yes, I just found this out for myself. The coupon codes don't indicate that they are no good for food. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif And the PetsMart site is really irritating in that it does not advise you that a coupon is inapplicable until you get all the way to the checkout (even though it shows up in your cart). http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif

  • Although a little more expensive than the above example from Plow and Hearth, this might be a little more useful http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif - pewter bookmark on sale for $5. I figure I'll add some bookstore gift certificates to them and use them for end-of-the-year teacher gifts.

  • From Plow and Hearth:

Replacement Glass Tube (looks like it's for a "rain catcher" of some sort - I was just looking for the cheapest thing!) Item number 9128 - $1.95 + 5.95 shipping = $7.90 total.

    Cheese spreaders for 9.99
    item # 13251

  • This is all great, but can anyone tell me the least they were able to spend in order to get all 20 merchants?

  • I didn't see an option to pick up the Office Max order. How do you do that?

    To add to the list:

Chef's Catalog has a small strainer (item 0547) and parchment paper (item 1446) for $4.99 each.

Cheapest I could find on ebags was a security wallet for $12, but no shipping charges.

Illuminations has some candle dishes (under clearance section) for $1.98 each. Their shipping charge is $5.98.

  • GC for Illumination works?Also....is there something cheaper than $10 in Illuminations?

    Thanks

  • Hickory Farms - I bought a 10.00 GC and sent it to my husband. Then We bought a great Hillside Harvest basket from clearance, used a 15% discount code (I am trying to find the code for you.....haven't found it yet), applied the 10.00 GC and mailed it to my father-in-law!
    Total Product $: 12.99
    Discounts: -1.95
    Credits Applied: -10.00
    Net Product$: 1.04
    Shipping: 4.95
    Sales Tax: 0.66
    Grand Total: 6.65

  • Here's what I bought:

    1) Eddie Bauer $5 gc - no S/H - miles credited
    2) Illuminations - votive candles had $5 gc so net cost $4.13 inc. s/h - miles credited
    3) Sharper Image - portable mini fan - $8.95 - 15% first user disc - $10 GC = $2.13 incl s/h - miles credited

I just replied to this in another thread. My miles posted immediately and long before my purchase was shipped or my credit card was charged. I wonder if the type of purchase makes a difference. I am a *serious* buyer of a $200 item.

  • Seeing these posts made me realize something: Wouldn't it be great if the websites allow a search for the lowest priced items?

  • I called the Office Max 800 number and was told pick up is possible. I told the gal I was trying to place an order but the option was not available and she said because it was the weekend it (the option) didn't appear. Apparently it has something to do with a 4 hours window and their delivery times. I know it sounded ridiculous but that's was I was told. Try and place the order on a weekday and see if that help.

  • The code for the Harry & David 15% off is H42.

To find other coupons for most of these stores go to
    http://www.dealhunting.com/

    and check their list.

  • That is exactly how I have been doing it. My son had friends sleep over and when they went to the pantry for breakfast I heard his friends comment on what a variety we had and the fact that they were all upside down.

  • Placed order at OfficeMax through the link at AOlAdvantage on 5/12 (Sat) order was delivered 5/15 and miles posted 5/21.
Link is made when you enter your AA number to access site.
    Mike

  • We have had several posts on Harry and David. What is cheap to buy there? I called and the chocolate orange is discontinued. Any other bright ideas?

  • I have placed a Spiegel Catalog, Office Max (Paper I needed) and the Sharper Image flashlight. I did not see in any of those a place for my advantage number. I did get to those sites via AOLAADVANTAGE. Am I missing something? Office Max did have a place for clickrewards miles, no AA miles.

  • Thanks birdyy. I'll try Tuesday.

There are two 15 percent off discount codes for Hickory Farms - 892898 and 898989.

  • You can get a 'chunky glass bowl' for $4.99 and some floating candles to float in it for between .99 and 2.99... Never too early to start thinking of holiday gift giving http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Shipping is around $5 I think tho...

  • sggolf -- May I ask where you got the $10 GC for Sharper Image?

  • I received an email reply from Plow & Hearth that said: The mileage should appear on your next 1-2 statements from American Airlines."

The email came from dcampbell@1800FLOWERS.com. She signed the email as Plow & Hearth Customer Satisfaction. It appears there is a connection between Plow & Hearth and 1800Flowers.

Besides Plow & Hearth, I am waiting on miles to post from: Express.com ordered 5/24, OfficeMax ordered 5/26, Time Warner Money Magazine ordered 5/22, eBags ordered 5/26, National Parks donation phoned to AA on 5/23. All of these have posted charges to my credit card, and I have received the merchandise from all but eBags. However, eBags has sent the UPS tracking number.

Spiegel, Eddie Bauer, Orvis, Hickory Farms, Illuminations, Harry & David and Land's End all posted miles within a few days of my placing the orders. I have not received the gift certifcate from Eddie Bauer nor the merchandise from Orvis. Both have sent emails saying they are shipping by priority mail.

A funny thing happened today. 500 miles for signing up for Quick Checkout on 2/20 (yes, I mean 2/20) was posted to my account this morning.

I fail to detect any consistent pattern in customer service responses or the manner in which miles are posted.

  • Express.com Allsop CD/DVD Repair kit trial size $1.49.

    Total with thipping $4.43.

  • Cactus; the Petsmart site automatically brought up the $10 coupon which I tried to use but you can't use it on dog food so I had to go without it. Thanks anyway

  • Don't forget to check valueconsumer.com for discounts. Harry & David (H39) gets you 10% off.

  • Ihave found the best wayto deal with the cereal boxes is to open them upside down, cut out the coupon after removing the plastic bag of cereal, then put the bag back in the box. Works out better than how I started with the coupon on the bottom. Anybody else tried this?

  • Those sound like good ideas, but I am still unsure on one point: Whether partners that are on the AOL AAdvantage website, but not on the AA partner list, will count as an official partner for the promotion. I know on the 20 partners thread they have said that they will count, but I just want to double check to make sure that is the case.

I had the same problem. I could only get to it from the very first page that is displayed. Once I got past that, I couldn't get back to it. The link is in the lower right hand corner of the welcome page.

  • Glassman - I spent $179.24 BUT I only spent $59.48 that I had not planned on spending right now. When I made purchases I did early birthday and x-mas shopping which I would have done anyway. Even the $59.48 only includes $5.00 of "stuff" that I probably will not use. May have been able to do it cheaper but not being able to use or need everything. Most posters have said the same. Straying at hotels, renting cars or flying for business/pleasure already planned. To put cost on it is difficult under those circumstances.

  • Here's 2 more:

Petsmart.com-I always buy the 20 lb proplan senior dog food at the store for $19.41 incl. tax. One the web site they had a special on it for 13.98 plus shipping. total came to: $23.98 on line so I paid a $4.57 premium to get the partner credit. If I had bought 2 bags I could have bought the second bag for a net of $18.00 since I paid for the shipping on the first bag.

OfficeMax-even though the pens have been posted a couple of times I decided I had pens running out my ears but always needed envelopes so I purchased the 100ct #10 envelopes for 3.85 plus the $5 shipping. This way I don't need to hassle with sending in the refund for something I don't really need like pens.
