Naming a new multilingual online marketing company!

  • I have gone through absolutely all resources and everything I have come up with either doesn't work in one of the languages we cover (doesn't sound attractive) or its already a registered domain. This is my last resort after settling for something I'm not happy with. A little summary of what we are looking for in a name: 1. we believe in web globalization. The idea is to be a one stop shop for clients with multilingual online marketing needs. So we have a global outlook running through our veins. This is, apart from effectiveness, is our distinguishing feature. 2. we are positioning ourselves as an uppserscale consulting agency for the bigger accounts. 3. our services include, search engine optimization, search engine marketing, advanced web analytics+tracking, maximizing return on investment by localizing each campaign rather than merely translating, market and competition sizing, online marketing budget management, strategic/marketing content development. All in all, we are an online marketing agency. 4. The name should be meaningful for a german, italian, engish, spanish and french speaker, if possible. This means it could just have an international feel to it. 5. if its not possible to give it an international twist, a zesty, sharp sounding name that somehow captures the essence of the company-creative, professional, multilingual, effeective, one stop consulting. 6. Something creative, catchy and easy to pronounce. 7. not excessively long. possibility of adding the word "media" at the end, if the domain is taken otherwise. Yes, please double check if the name you're suggesting actual has an open domain. Feel free to ask more questions. I'll be happy to give as much guidance as possible. I just need fresh brain juice on this. I'm completely drained of ideas.

  • this is actually quite difficult to do, there have been so many. for example: intermedia metromedia xmedia admiramedia atlasmedia nuance nuancemedia geomedia geonmedia beyondmedia horizonmedia There are countless others that I've tried without writing down. Just cool sounding adjectives before the word media, that somehow relate to bringing improved results, visibility, roi, etc. i also had several names that sounded more latin/spanish (we are based in Madrid) but we're afraid to make the name too spanish sounding, because we will be working with international clients. Hope this helps I'm also afraid to to use dashes, 1)because it complicates the domain and 2) there are companies already using the same domain without a dash, so it would get confusing and could cause legal problems.

  • Call me conventional, but why not try something like Cosmic Marketing Solutions? (Domain is not taken.) Granted, it may not have the POW that you want, but the #1 mistake business owners make is choosing a name for their company. This is your "label" and how you are percieved, so make sure it is VERY clear who you are and what you do in the title you choose. I'll give you a few examples of how the wrong name can make all the difference. Example One: I used to drive by a place for YEARS called the "Nail School". Now call me high-maintenance, but I'm fond of being pampered. In all the years I drove by this place, I never knew it was an actual beauty salon. I in fact thought it was a beauty SCHOOL. It was set a little ways off the road in a strip mall, so I never bothered to confirm one way or another. One day I went into a book store a few shops down and realized it was actually a salon. I went in and was estatic to see that it in fact was a salon! (It was WAY more conveniently located than the salon I was currently utilizing.) I began going to the Nail School on a regular basis, each time it was a ghost town. The owner and I eventually became friends, and when she discovered my background in Business Development and Marketing, she immediatley began asking how to increase business. I told her to change the name of her salon, so she did. She had a new sign put up at the road, and within 3 months her revenue increased over 32%. (She was lucky, I gave her that advice for free!) Example Two: 7 years ago, before my husband and I were married, he began a company called TFT Properties. (The Ferguson Team Properties) The business cards and logo were cute, but what the hell is TFT Properties? Well, we're actually a real estate investment company. We buy and flip properties for investors. However, you certainly couldn't tell that from our name, could you? The majority of calls we recieved were from people looking for property managers, and if you think about it, that's kind of what the business name seemed to target. Needless to say, 3 years ago we changed the name and we get a LOT more call in business and action from the internet now. Remember this: You should ALWAYS use the KEY word most people search for in the name of your company. So if you are a marketing company, that should be somewhere in the name OF your company. This is key for search engine placement as well. I'll sleep on it and see if I can come up with something a little more savvy!

  • Kubanga, Thanks, I can well imagine. The name Paneuromedia just occurred to me. It is not entirely original, I discover. Someone has created the domain and even an empty format: http://www.paneuromedia.com/# On whois.com you can find the information about the owner of the domain, which -admitted- doesn't seem to be in very good company from the other hits when I searched for it. paneumedia seems to be free still. Looks French: paneu, but panEUmedia could suggest the multi-EU aspect. Hopefully, someone else will accept the challenge. Myoarin

  • Thanks myoarin. I hope you don't mind if I say I'm not entirely convinced by paneumedia. it doesnt' seem like something that sticks or is easy to say, although of course I see the pan-european meaning. please, don't give up. and i do hope others participate.

  • I can see the problem with domains already being taken. All the obvious words are popular. If you could add a clarification with the names that you have already rejected, that would be a great help, not only to avoid wasting effort discovering that they are already taken, but also to suggest the direction of your own thoughts.

  • You are quite right. By the light of day, the eye wants to read pneumonia or pandamonia, maybe "catchy", but not image enhancing.
