  • Hi. What exactly are you searching for? If you want to find that place why don't you try to use another map? I can recommend you Yahoo Maps: http://maps.yahoo.com If you want to go to Carroll Gardens and you don't know the way you can find that too: http://maps.yahoo.com/py/ddResults.py Here is the page I got for Carroll gardens - Brooklyn, NY: ( http://maps.yahoo.com/py/maps.py?Pyt=Tmap&addr=Carroll+gardens&city=Brooklin&state=NY&csz=Brooklin,+NY&slt=40.675650&sln=-73.982550&name=&zip=&country=us&&BFKey=&BFCat=&BFClient=&mag=10&desc=&cs=9&newmag=9&poititle=&poi=&ds=n ) I tried to locate the place on that map that you talked about, but after two hours I gave up. I got lost in that map. :o) Does this info qualify as an answer or what you want are instructions on how to find the place on that particular map? Thank you for using our service ldcdc-ga

  • Hello bigjosh, I believe I found the information you are seeking. All the links below are from the MTA New York City Transit Home page, which is: http://www.mta.nyc.ny.us/nyct/index.html From the home page, I clicked on Maps which took me to the System Maps page: http://www.mta.nyc.ny.us/nyct/maps/index.html From here, I selected the Brooklyn link under the Bus section. This link displays the entire Brooklyn bus system map in PDF format (which you can also save). This map includes the Smith Street/Carroll Street area. The pdf link is: http://www.mta.info/nyct/maps/busbkln.pdf From the System Maps page, if you click on the Full System link under the Subway section (or just click the subway map link), you will see the NYC subway map. This page is at the following link: http://www.mta.info/nyct/maps/submap.htm On the subway map page, you can click on the Carroll Street/Smith Street area and then select either the F line or the G line. Selecting the F line takes you to the following page: http://www.mta.info/nyct/service/fline.htm From this page, if you scroll down to the Brooklyn section, you will see information on bus connections from the Carroll Street station (where Smith is the cross street) - in this case, the B71 and B75 buses. If you select the Buses link from the home page, then select Schedules, then select Brooklyn, you will arrive at the Brooklyn Bus Schedules page. From here, find the B71 bus line (as determined from the F line link above). The associated bus name is Union Street/Eastern Parkway. If you click on this link, it will display the "Bus Timetable Effective January 2002" information in downloadable PDF format. This timetable covers between the Crown Heights and Cobble Hill areas. Included in the timetable (besides the times) is a map which also shows the F line Subway connection (at Carroll and Smith Streets) and the Carroll Gardens area. The pdf link is: http://www.mta.nyc.ny.us/nyct/bus/schedule/bkln/b071cur.pdf I hope this information is helpful to you. Regards, ames

  • Hello again bigjosh, I also found a street map of the Carroll Gardens area that includes Carroll and Smith Streets along with the F (and G) line subway station. Unfortunately the map is not in pdf format, only html. However, you can enlarge the various areas within Brooklyn to see the detailed street maps online. This map is at the following link (from the nyc.gov website which I already had bookmarked): http://www.nyc.gov/html/dcp/html/dcptd/bkp15.html I also came across two other non-PDF Carroll Gardens street map links. 1. Welcome To Carroll Gardens website with scrollable streets and a link to the Subway Map. When you click the Subway Map link you can zoom in further by clicking on the map on the new page. The website is at: http://www.smalltownbrooklyn.com/carrollgardens/carrollhome.htm 2. William S. Ross Real Estate page containing neighborhood maps for Brooklyn areas (including Carroll and Smith Streets) and shows the subway stations: http://www.wsross.com/cgardens.html I hope between this information containing detailed street info and the pdf subway and bus information in my answer, you will have everything you were hoping to find to get where you wish to go. Regards, ames

  • I am sepcifically looking for the MTA neighbood map. These are excelent maps produced by Michael Hertz Associates for the New York MTA. There are about 40 of them, each one covers a New York neighborhood and shows public transportation along with all sorts of other stuff. If you follow the link I provided, you'll be able to look at all the neigborhood maps for Manhattan to see what they are like. I am looking for the MTA neigborhood map for Carrol Gardens. thanks, josh

  • Hello bigjosh, I had originally checked out your MTA link to the Manhattan Neighborhood Map. However, I had also noticed that although the map links functioned, the other links on that page were broken. In fact, upon trying to click on the Phone link, I rececived a message indicating that this site was no longer in use and was re-directed to the new site (with the links I posted in my answer). I had also noticed that there were no identical maps available on the new MTA site. This morning, I called the map number on their new website and was given the name and number of the person who was responsible for the original neighborhood map posting. His name is Chuck Gordinier and his Manhattan number is (212) 878-7415. He mentioned two things. The first was that they never had completed the development of the Brooklyn neighborhood maps (for online purposes) and the second was that they were no longer producing or posting any neighborhood maps (that showed all the streets and bus line information as through your link). He didn't want to go into the details but did say it was now policy and due to security issues that they were no longer posting the neighborhood maps. Mr. Gordinier did mention that New York City had done an elaborate city mapping program and that it was available on the NYC website (but no bus or subway details). This is the first link I pointed to in my original clarification. He also mentioned that you can get street maps (at a high-level, not detail level) with bus & subway information for Brooklyn from the new MTA MYC site. Unfortunately, he is not aware of any websites where you can get detailed street maps which show the bus & subway information and are available in pdf format (such as the old Manhattan Neighborhood Maps site). The first number I called was an MTA NYC customer service number on the following site: http://www.mta.info/mta/phone.htm Near the bottom of the New York City Transit section, there is a section called "Map orders (25 or more)". Their number is (718) 694-4903. The gentleman I spoke with didn't know the details of the original Neighborhood Maps but he provided me with Mr. Gordinier's contact name and number and he also mentioned that all the bus maps they had were on their website. I know it's not what you were hoping to hear but I hope it provides some clarification. Regards, ames
