The FDA ( www.fda.org ) has approved a new vision correction option called CustomVue and in doing so has created a new option for establishing a new standard for myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism treatment or correction. As Dr. Glenn Kawesch explains this new Custom LASIK helps bridge the gap to include more patients than ever before.
CustomVue treatments use a technology called WaveScan to produce a detailed map of the eye and measure more precisely imperfections in the eye; 25 more times more precisely than ever before. But it does much more. This new technology allows us to generate a digital information map which is this directly transferred to the laser, explains Dr. Glenn Kawesch. The laser then completes the procedure and provides a new level of precision and accuracy.
In addition, Dr. Glenn Kawesch explains the CustomVue treatment procedure uses IRT which is a fully automated method for aligning wavefront corrections. This non-contact method of aligning the treatment to the eyes cornea provides much better accuracy when it comes to alignment said Dr. Glenn Kawesch.
With CustomVue treatments, Dr. Glenn Kawesch, or your own doctor, can measure and correct those small imperfections in your vision that were until now undetectable. This creates better vision, often, than glasses or contacts can achieve states Dr. Glenn Kawesch.
These treatments are available for a variety of people including far and near sightedness, as well as, astigmatism. As a result, more than 92 percent of the United States population that requires vision correction can now be treated with CustomVue.
Dr. Glenn Kawesch goes on to mention that treatments are now available for a much more broad range of people than ever before. We can now treat myopia, myopia with astigmatism, hyperopia, hyperopia with astigmatism and mixed astigmatism said Dr. Glenn Kawesch.
This is a nice, new, broad range of new, treatable eye sight options with CustomVue.
